Spotlight on Lethbridge
Style, Inclusion & Small-Town Strength
In the heart of downtown Lethbridge, surrounded by local cafés, diners, bookstores, and the buzz of community events, you’ll find a Suzanne’s store that is as welcoming as it is stylish. Led by Manager Michaela Brennan, the Lethbridge team is a tight-knit group with big hearts and deep roots in the community.
Michaela—who’s been with Suzanne’s for over 4 years—is a costume-making, cross-stitching, dance-loving creative who brings warmth and imagination into every customer interaction. She’s joined by Wardrobe Specialists Debra and Lorna, each with unique life stories, a love of connection, and a shared passion for helping women feel amazing in their own skin.
This store has become a beloved part of downtown Lethbridge’s fabric. Nominated for the Downtown Awards four years in a row, they proudly participate in events like the 6th Street Block Party, Foodie Fest, and Pride Fest. Their customers often come from far beyond the city just to visit—many becoming like family.
One especially meaningful moment?
“A new customer told us how safe and welcome she felt shopping here as a transgender woman,” Michaela shares. “That’s not always her experience—but with us, she knows she’s respected, seen, and celebrated. She often pops in just to say hi.”
That sense of safety, joy, and connection runs deep. Regulars bring in their families, share laughs, and seek out their favorite team members by name.
“We love seeing our customers happy. Laughing, feeling confident—that makes every shift worth it.”
Outside the boutique, the team supports local causes, contributes to charity auctions, and actively engages in community conversations—whether about downtown changes or the impact of major retailers closing nearby.
In Lethbridge, Canadian pride is lived every day through reconciliation efforts and local traditions. The official city greeting, “Oki,” honors the Blackfoot Tribe and the land the city stands on. Pride in the First Nations community is woven into city events, parades, and local markets—and the call to support Canadian businesses and authors is strong.
This Canada Day, the Lethbridge team’s message to their community is a beautiful reminder:
“You are worth everything. Be kind to yourself and love who you are. Your experiences have made you who you are.”
